I have never used a scalp scrub before or even knew that scalp scrubs were an actual thing. But I received this Neutrogena Healthy Scalp Clarify and Shine Scalp Scrub with Pink Grapefruit complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes so I decided to give it a try. I've used Neutrogena facial products before but never hair products, so I was interested to see how this would be.
My first impression of this scrub was that it smelled just like their Neutrogena Oil-Free Pink Grapefruit Cream Facial Cleanser, which has a lovely, bright and fresh smell.
Second, I don't really have oily hair so I was worried this would dry my hair out too much but I did see they have other types of this Healthy Hair Scalp Scrub for different hair types if you need something different, so it's good that they have variety. They also have an entire Healthy Scalp Shampoo and Conditioner line!
Third, this scrub was interesting to use to say the least. Putting a gritty scrub on your head is something I've never done before and it kind of felt wrong LOL. But it was easy enough to apply it and it rinsed out great. It definitely left my hair feeling clarified and residue free. So I think this would be great to use if you have a lot of build up from daily use of leave-in products and dry shampoos.
Lastly, my final opinion is that I can live without this scrub in my hair routine. I think that maybe these scalp scrubs would be great for some people who struggle with oily or dry scalps but mine is pretty normal and I didn't feel like this brought me anything that I really needed.
